    LIHEAP assists low-income households that pay a high portion of their income to meet their energy needs, and provides one-time financial assistance to help balance an eligible household's utility bill.

    Eligibility:
    Varies, depending on sources of income and other factors.

    Hours of Operation:
    Monday through Thursday: 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm
    Friday: Closed

    How to Apply

    Begin by downloading our Energy Assistance and Weatherization application and instructions for the county in which you reside. If you do not have access to a printer you can either pick up an application or one can be mailed to you.


    Please note that applicants MUST provide the following; as well as other supporting documents identified in the application forms.

        Social security card

        Certified birth certificate


    Once completed, you may begin by scanning and submitting your application forms by email (you will need to follow-up by mailing in the application with your original signature); you can mail them to our office; or, if you need help completing the forms, please call one of our offices to speak with an Intake Specialist

    MONTHLY HOUSEHOLD INCOME CAN NOT EXCEED:

        One client household up to $2,431.09

        Two client household up to $3,179.11

        Three client household  up to $3,927.14

        Four client household up to $4,675.17

        Five client household up to $5,423.19

        Six client household up to $6,171.22

        Seven client household up to $6,311.48

    The Low Income Home Energy Assistance program is called LIHEAP. They assist low income people and families with their heating and cooling bills. This program is therefore, a year long program that is available 12 months a year. To qualify for the LIHEAP assistance, you need to qualify. We provide the current Federal Poverty Rates nationwide below.

    You are automatically qualified for LIHEAP assistance if you participate in the SNAP food stamps program, TANF Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, or the SSI program through Social Security.

    *Alaska and Hawaii have different rates for HUD federal poverty guidelines.
    These numbers above represent 100% of the Federal Poverty Rate. In order to get legal aid from some offices, they use a sliding fee scale. When they use a sliding fee scale, the 100% rate can be different than 100%. In those cases, using for example a 200% federal poverty level, you will only need double the 100% number listed above to 200%.
